Robert A. Sisk, M.D.
Robert A. Sisk, M.D., F.A.C.S. was graduated from the University of Virginia as an Echols Scholar with a B.S. in Chemistry. He returned to his home town of Lexington, KY for medical school at the University of Kentucky, College of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and graduated with High Distinction. Dr. Sisk completed both an Internship in Internal Medicine and a Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati. He completed his training with a fellowship in adult and pediatric vitreoretinal surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
Dr. Sisk is actively engaged in clinical research and ophthalmic education. Dr. Sisk is a principal investigator or co-investigator for many FDA-regulated investigational drug trials and studies for identification of genetic eye diseases. He is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati, where he educates residents and fellows in vitreoretinal surgery. He is the author of numerous publications in the peer-reviewed ophthalmic literature and presents regularly at international clinical and scientific meetings.
Dr. Sisk serves adults and older children at the CEI Centre View Boulevard office in Kentucky and Blue Ash offices in Ohio. He provides care for neonates, infants, and young children at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, a top 3 hospital nationally, where he is Director of Pediatric Vitreoretinal Surgery.
Dr. Sisk specializes in medical and surgical vitreoretinal diseases including diabetic retinopathy, macular pucker, macular hole, macular degeneration, complicated retinal detachment, retinopathy of prematurity, vascular diseases of the retina, uveitis, histoplasmosis, complications of anterior segment surgery, and ocular trauma. He has special interests in pediatric retinal and surgical diseases, hereditary diseases of the retina, and retinal electrophysiology.
Dr. Sisk is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His peers selected him as one of The Best Doctors in America. He is a member of the Retina Society, the Association of Pediatric Retinal Surgeons, the American Society of Retinal Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and a board member of the Cincinnati Society of Ophthalmology.
