TOM F. STRAUS, M.D. 

Dr. Tom F. Straus joined the staff of the Cincinnati Eye Institute in 1996, after acquiring 15 years experience as a solo practitioner in Middletown performing general medical and surgical ophthalmology.

He is a graduate of Washington University, St. Louis, and received his medical training at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.  He has been elected into the honor societies of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha.  Following a year of Internal Medicine, he completed a three-year Residency in Ophthalmology at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.  He was certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1982.  Dr. Straus is currently the only full-time general ophthalmologist in Middletown and specializes in medical ophthalmology and laser surgery with particular emphasis on YAG laser surgery of the anterior segment of the eye.

Dr. Straus currently serves on the medical staff of Middletown Regional Hospital and is active in Medical Staff Leadership.  He is currently Chairman of the Credentials Committee.  He is a member of the Butler County Medical Society, the Ohio State Medical Association, the Ohio Ophthalmological Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
