![]() Michael A. Hater, M.D. practices general ophthalmology with special interests in cataract and implant surgery, corneal disorders, external eye diseases, and emergency eye care. Dr. Hater, a native Cincinnatian, attended University of Cincinnati, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Honors Program with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then entered University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree then completed a year of Internship. Dr. Hater entered his Residency at Indiana University Department of Ophthalmology and subsequently went on to a year of Fellowship training in Louisville, Kentucky specializing in cornea, external eye disease, and refractive surgery. He joined Cincinnati Eye Institute (CEI) in 1998. Dr. Hater's practice is diverse geographically, with offices located in Williamstown/Dry Ridge, Kentucky, Georgetown, Ohio and Delhi Township, Ohio, as well as working at CEI's Blue Ash office. In Delhi, he works with his father, an optometrist, whom he largely credits for his interests in ophthalmology. Dr. Hater is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Ohio State Ophthalmological Association, and the Cincinnati Academy of Medicine. He is on the medical staff of Bethesda, Good Samaritan, St. Francis-St. George, Georgetown General and St. Elizabeth Hospitals. Outside of Ophthalmology, Dr. Hater is an avid pilot, holding commercial and flight instructor certificates with multi-engine and instrument ratings. He flies his single-engine Cessna out of Lunken Airport. |
