JCAHPO Announces New President

St. Paul, MN – September 4, 2013 – The Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology is pleased to introduce ophthalmologist Karl Golnik, MD as the 22nd president of the organization. On August 1, 2013, Dr. Golnik succeed Tyree Carr, MD, who served as JCAHPO’s Presidnet for a successful and progressive two years from 2011 to 2013.

Karl Golnik, MD, MEd, is a national leader in both ophthalmological practice and education. He received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Virginia. Today, Dr. Golnik serves concurrently as a neuro-ophthalmologist at the University of Cincinnati Neuroscience Institute; a professor ophthalmology, neurology and neurosurgery at bothe University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Eye Institute; and a professor of ephthalmology at the University of Louisville. Dr. Gonik now brings his exceptional knowledge and his extraordinary leadership and educational skills to JCAHPO.
