Erin Filbrandt, O.D. is an Optometrist at Cincinnati Eye Institute. Dr. Filbrandt practices comprehensive and medically focused optometry with an emphasis on anterior segment. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Dayton, where she was captain of the varsity tennis team. After spending two years performing pulmonary research at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, she decided to pursue her passion for eye care. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from The Ohio State University College of Optometry where she was president of the student chapter of the American Academy of Optometry and vice president of the optometric fraternity Epsilon Psi Epsilon. Her clinical rotations included binocular vision and pediatrics, low vision, contact lens, and student health center clinics within the university; the Southern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health Care System; and Columbus Ophthalmology Associates.
Dr. Filbrandt continued her education by completing an ocular disease residency with the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Eye Clinic. Throughout her residency, she presented several lectures and posters, one of which received an award at the Heart of America optometric conference.
Dr. Filbrandt was born in California and raised in Ohio. Most of her spare time is spent hiking with her little Australian Shepherd named Kota. She also enjoys rock climbing, trail running, trying not to fall off her mountain bike, and creating various forms of art.
