Michael J. Lyons, O.D., F.A.A.O., is a provider of optometric services at Cincinnati Eye Institute and is a member of Dr. Adam Kaufman’s Cornea, Refractive, and Uveitis Clinic. Dr. Lyons is also a full-time Volunteer Clinical Instructor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati. He sees patients at the main office in Blue Ash.
Dr. Lyons received his undergraduate education at Ohio University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997 in biology with a minor in art. He went on to study optometry at The Ohio State University College of Optometry, receiving his Doctoral Degree in 2001. Following his graduation, he was accepted into the Ocular Disease Residency program at CEI, directed by Kevin Corcoran, O.D., F.A.A.O. From there, Dr. Lyons joined CEI, concentrating but not limiting his practice to ocular inflammation, corneal disease, dry eyes, and therapeutic contact lenses.
Dr. Lyons is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Association. He is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry for the treatment and management of ocular disease. He also has special interests in low vision and contact lenses for therapeutic and cosmetic needs.
When Dr. Lyons is not practicing at Cincinnati Eye Institute, he provides low vision services at Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. He also sees patients at Focal Pointe Eye Care, his private practice located in West Chester, Ohio.
