Get to Know Dr. Bonneau

Dr. Bonneau is a comprehensive optometrist who co-manages various ocular diseases in conjunction with ophthalmologists at CEI. She sees patients with a variety of medical conditions including diabetes, macular degeneration, cataract management and other anterior and posterior segment problems.

Dr. Bonneau obtained her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of Windsor in Canada where she grew up. She then went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Vision science, and Doctor of Optometry from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University. In her third year, she was selected to provide eye care to patients with diabetes in an advanced elective interprofessional wellness clinic with a team of nurses and pharmacists. Her fourth year consisted of a series of rotations at various clinics including a Veterans Affairs hospital and in the OR observing surgical procedures. Dr. Bonneau then went on to complete her residency in ocular disease at the Cincinnati Eye Institute. Here she, together with ophthalmologists and optometrists, managed a variety of diseases and observed more surgical procedures to solidify her understanding of the eye and anatomy. Along with seeing comprehensive patients, she values a team approach to eyecare and working alongside surgeons co-managing pre and post operative care and stable ocular diseases. Currently, Dr. Bonneau is working toward becoming a fellow with the American Academy of Optometry.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing sports, relaxing with TV or a good book, and hanging out with friends. She looks forward to exploring more of the city of Cincinnati.
