Josef A. Koberlein, O.D., is a member of the cornea and comprehensive care teams at the Cincinnati Eye Institute. He currently sees patients at the Blue Ash and Middletown locations.
Dr. Koberlein completed his undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University where he studied Biology and Spanish. While at Ohio State, he was an active member of the German Club, Mountaineering Club, and the OSU ski team. Following his time in Columbus, Dr. Koberlein went on to complete his Doctor of Optometry at the Kentucky College of Optometry. During his training, he completed clinical rotations at Bennett and Bloom Eye Centers in Louisville, Kentucky; the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health System in Harlingen/McAllen, Texas; and the Kentucky College of Optometry throughout Eastern Kentucky.
Dr. Koberlein finished his training by completing a 13-month post-Doctoral residency in ocular disease at CEI. While a resident, he gained experience across the spectrum of ocular disease with more than 3,000 varied patient encounters. He has presented posters at the Ohio Optometric Association annual conference in Columbus and at the American Academy of Optometry annual conference in San Diego, California.
When Dr. Koberlein is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, cooking, exploring outdoor pursuits, and traveling.
