Urgent Eye Clinic
Many patients come to CEI through its Scott E. Burk Urgent Eye Clinic, which is located on the third floor at the Regional Main Office in Blue Ash, Ohio. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Our Urgent Eye Clinic schedules patients for same day visits, but an appointment is required. Please call first to schedule your appointment.
Our doctors diagnose and treat patients with all types of eye conditions, including ocular trauma, conjunctivitis ("pinkeye"), sudden blind spots, halos, flashes of light and foreign bodies in the eye, among others. The clinic has all the necessary testing equipment and doctors to care for patients.
The role of the Urgent Eye Clinic service is to triage and treat emergency ocular conditions and, if necessary, to refer to the appropriate sub-specialist. Many patients who are successfully treated require only this one visit.
In addition to the Urgent Eye Clinic, Cincinnati Eye Institute has an ophthalmologist who is "on call" 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
On April 22, 2014, CEI held a dedication to rename our Urgent Eye Clinic to the “Scott E. Burk Urgent Eye Clinic.” Dr. Burk was beloved by many and passed away March 21, 2013 after working at CEI for many years.
