Getting to Know Dr. Martinez

Andre N. Martinez, M.D. completed his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and received Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. He received his medical doctorate from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he graduated Top 10 in his class. He then completed both Ophthalmology Residency and Preliminary Internal Medicine Internship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in 2022 where he was distinguished as Chief Ophthalmology Resident during his final year and received the Outstanding Mentoring and Teaching award. While there, he performed hundreds of cataract surgeries, intravitreal injections to treat macular degeneration, various laser procedures to treat glaucoma and retinal diseases, and has managed numerous ophthalmic emergencies.

Dr. Martinez is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has participated in and published research involving glaucoma and eyelid disease. Dr. Martinez practices medical and surgical comprehensive ophthalmology including management of cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration.

Outside of the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his family and pets as well as participating in various outdoor activities such as tennis, golf, cycling, and hiking.
