Hisham H. Arar, M.D.

Hisham H. Arar, M.D. received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Xavier University and a Masters of Science Degree from the University of Dayton. While attending the University of Dayton, he presented and published many papers in the field of biomedical engineering. Dr. Arar then attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship in eye research involving corneal wound healing and macular degeneration. Dr. Arar presented the results of his work at the Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and was the recipient of the Ohio Lion’s Eye Research Foundation Fellowship for his research.
After a year of internship at Good Samaritan Hospital, he attended University of Cincinnati where he served as a Resident in Ophthalmology. After his residency, he completed a six-month rotation in cataract and implant surgery with Robert Osher, M.D. at Cincinnati Eye Institute (CEI).
Dr. Arar is Board Certified in Ophthalmology, a member of the American Medical Association, the Ohio State Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Arar serves on multiple committees and was recently the president of the Cincinnati Society of Ophthalmology. He was selected numerous times to the “Best Doctors in America” and “Cincinnati Top Doctors”.
