Get to Know Dr. Cayton

Dr. Tara Cayton, MD, is a comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery, glaucoma treatments (including laser and minimally invasive surgery), advanced dry eye disease, diabetic eye disease, and comprehensive eye care. She grew up in Pleasanton, CA and graduated from Macalester College in Minnesota magna cum laude with Bachelors of Arts in Chemistry and Japanese Language and Culture. She completed her medical doctorate at Penn State University College of Medicine, where she served as class president of the regional campus and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. Following this, she underwent an Internal Medicine internship before embarking on a three-year ophthalmology residency at The Ohio State University. Throughout her residency, she presented research at multiple regional and national conferences and received accolades for her contributions to the field of ophthalmology.

Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Cayton enjoys various pursuits in her personal life. She actively participates in a recreational softball league, engages in travel adventures with her fiancé, and cherishes moments spent with her two cats, Nellie and Orion.
