Some patients are unsure as to what constitutes an urgent care visit to Cincinnati Eye Institute. Below are a few examples of conditions that may require immediate treatment with an eye doctor:

• Foreign objects in the eyes
• Conjunctivitis (pink eye) or other infection

Patients who are dealing with any of the above situations and are unable to wait until they see their primary eye care professional can take advantage of our urgent eye care clinic. Urgent visits are available for non-patients during the hours of 8am and 5pm during the week and 8am to 12pm on Saturdays. Patients still need to call the office at (800) 544-5133 to schedule a same-day appointment with our doctors. Additionally, new patients can only be seen on Saturday if they have been referred by a local hospital or medical professional in the area.

Any of our current providers who are at the clinic the day of the problem can assist patients in the urgent eye clinic. In addition, we have an ophthalmologist on-call to assist in certain situations that may arise.
