Get to Know Dr. Burchell

Dr. Patrick Burchell is a board-certified ophthalmologist and oculoplastic surgeon. Dr. Burchell’s areas of specialty include functional and cosmetic eyelid surgery, Mohs reconstruction, tear duct surgery, and treatment of thyroid eye disease and orbital trauma. Dr. Burchell also performs cosmetic procedures and treatments such as brow lift, BOTOX® and injectable dermal fillers.

Dr. Burchell completed his undergraduate degree at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio then went on to complete his medical degree at the University of Louisville. He then ventured to the Pacific Northwest for his preliminary surgery internship at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, Wa, where he developed an interest in coffee, hiking, and bigger reconstructive procedures common in oculoplastics. He returned to Louisville for his Ophthalmology Residency, where he was elected as chief resident for his final year and served as the state’s resident ambassador for the annual mid-year forum in Washington, D.C.

He came home to Cincinnati, to complete his ASOPRS Oculoplastics Fellowship under the world renowned Dr. Jeffrey Nerad. Here he honed his skills in a wide range of functional oculoplastic and orbital procedures, complex reconstructions, and cosmetic oculofacial surgery.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Burchell has contributed publications to a number of peer-reviewed journals. He has also been a featured presenter and poster contributor at meetings of multiple seminars.

In his free time, Dr. Burchell enjoys golf, deep sea fishing, and supporting his favorite teams, the Cincinnati Bengals and Xavier Basketball.
